Google Support for Startups in Pakistan: Two Chosen for AI Academy

Google support for startups in Pakistan continues as two innovative Pakistani startups, AdalFi and Adlytic AI, have been selected among 23 companies from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to participate in Google’s first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy. This initiative underscores Google’s support for startups in Pakistan by providing them with critical resources to scale their AI-driven solutions and accelerate business growth.

The AI Academy kicked off earlier this week with a comprehensive three-day boot camp in Singapore, featuring startups from India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. The Pakistani startups will benefit from over 170 hours of mentorship from AI and Cloud experts, along with up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits.

This support is part of Google’s efforts to empower startups in Pakistan and across the APAC region, fostering collaboration among AI innovators.

Launched in August, the Google AI Academy is designed to cultivate AI talent and drive cross-border partnerships, ultimately aiming to position the APAC region as a global hub for AI innovation. By selecting two startups from Pakistan, Google demonstrates its commitment to the country’s growing AI ecosystem.

AdalFi AI is working to increase access to financial services with its AI-powered credit scoring system, promoting financial inclusion for millions, while Adlytic AI is transforming retail analytics by turning CCTV cameras into intelligent tools for businesses.

Michael Kim, Head of Google for Startups, emphasized the broader impact of AI in addressing key challenges, from financial inclusion to healthcare accessibility. “AI has the potential to be an incredible force multiplier, and it’s inspiring to see these 23 startups, including those from Pakistan, using AI to tackle real-world challenges,” Michael Kim stated.

He expressed excitement about Google’s support for startups in Pakistan and the wider APAC region, noting that the program aims to spark a wave of innovation that will resonate throughout the global AI industry.

The participating startups will present their refined AI solutions to investors, entrepreneurs, and AI leaders on Graduation Day this December, further solidifying Google’s support for startups in Pakistan as a crucial element in shaping the future of AI in the region.

Global tech giant Google has launched its initiative, “A Google for Pakistan,” aiming to produce 500,000 Chromebooks within the country. The first locally manufactured Chromebook was presented to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a ceremony in Islamabad by Scott Beaumont, President of Google Asia Pacific (APAC).

PM Shehbaz Sharif praised Google’s contributions and emphasized the potential of Pakistan’s youth in driving economic growth. He set a target of $25 billion in IT exports over the next five years and committed to digitizing the country’s governance system, while also encouraging IT professionals to support small businesses and freelancers.
